Newsletter Term 4 Week 9 2022
"We acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians on whose land our school rests. Their footsteps and whispers blow in the wind, drift on the clouds, remain deep in the sandstone and float on the waterways of this place. Their memories and Dreaming stories will continue to connect us to the land and guide future generations of our school community. Country is alive if you take the time to look, listen and learn."
Principal's message
Thank you
Thank you to our wonderful teaching staff for their dedication, energy and commitment to providing all our students with opportunities to grow, challenge themselves and participate in new and exciting learning opportunities. Thank you to the school community and the support that you provide for our students to be the best they can be. It truly takes a village to raise a child, our village is testament to that!
Our wonderful Band and choir students performed last night at our Ensemble Evening. What a fabulous night of music. Our band program is going from strength to strength. Thank you for the dedication and commitment of our P&C Band parents who attend meetings, organise fundraising and support with so many roles behind the scenes. Thank you also to our conductors Mr Strykowski and Mr Bullough and our Band manager Caroline Fechner. The growth of our musicians has been phenomenal, we are very proud of them all.
Year 6
What an absolute pleasure it has been to see the energy and commitment that our Year 6 students have shown towards their end of year events. From their dedication to their Yearbook contributions, to the joy they are showing in their artwork installation they are creating it has been exciting to be part of. The excitement and pleasure they have brought today to all the students across the school has been fantastic. Working together to collaborate and create their games, problem solve and find creative solutions. I feel they are all well equipped to step forward into the new opportunities that high school will bring to them all.Thank you to the Year 6 teachers for providing engaging, creative opportunities for our students to learn and grow.

New Opportunities
As the school year draws to a close this is an opportune time to discuss change with your children. New school years are exciting opportunities to build new friendships and develop connections with new teachers. Building confidence and resilience are important skills they will carry forward as they grow and mature. Parents this is a time to provide proactive and positive support to your children and encourage new connections and new friendships as they embrace the new year..
We are currently providing transitions for identified students to ensure our students are well prepared for the new year. Our teachers have worked hard to ensure that we have well balanced classes that provide an opportunity for all students to be known, valued and cared for.
Our staff love new opportunities as well! We wish Georgia Witton well as she embarks on new adventures next year, with travel and working overseas on the horizon. We look forward to Georgia’s return in 2024. We will welcome Ms Meghan Parsons to our staff.
Student Leaders 2022

They have attended weekly leadership meetings, planned and organised events, run assemblies, attended community events and provided role modelling for our younger students. We are very proud of every one of them and wish them well for high school. Thank you to Emily H, Beau P, Lani H, Toby O,Beau B, Jonty F, Rose K, Talia T.
